Show all images on one page In this composition I choose the effect, when you are looking at the beautiful Churches sitting on a grass between field flowers. Bellflower (or campanula flower) is compared with the real bells on the towers.
The box depicts an impressive view of the white-stoned Churches of Suzdal. Gold and silver paints are used to highlight and detail the drawing. The composition is multi-layered and this produces a three-dimensional effect and creates a dynamic experience for the eye. The box is constructed from paper-mache. Bright blue lacquer mixed with gold dust is used to paint its exterior while red lacquer mixed with gold dust completes its interior. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat base. The work is signed Sergey Knyazev, dated (2009) and titled («Tinkling of Bells») in gold paints on the lid’s interior. |
