"The Captain`s Daughter" - a historical novel by Alexander S. Pushkin.
The action takes place during the Pugachev`s Rebellion. The novel shows russian people`s nature of those old times and riddled with russian girlish charm. Masha Mironova, whose character gave title to the whole story, is a perfect girl, devoted to her love - Pyotr Grinev. He was falsely accused as a traitor, so Masha decided to risk and go to Saint Petersburg to present a petition to the Empress Catherine the Great.
All sides of the box are decorated with gold leaf and views of the great city St. Petersburg. Mother-of-pearl shines through different parts of the composition on the lid, at certain places it slightly extends beyond.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Traditionally, the box's interior is covered with red lacquer. On the lid's interior there is also written in gold the title of the work, Fedoskino, Knyazev Sergey and the year of 2015.
